How to live as a Christian in the modern world

The modern world that we inhabit is filled with many un-christlike attributes. as a christian it is often difficult to stay on the path, especially with all the temptations that we face every day. Attributes that are evil have become popular, the things that have become normalized are the very things that Jesus told us to stay away from.

How do you live as a Christian in the modern world? There are many things that can draw you away from the path of righteousness, but there are also many ways to stay on the straight and narrow.

Put on the full armor of God every morning

You can put on the armor of God every morning to help you face the day and stay strong.

  • Put on the helmet of salvation (Eph 6:17). This helmet protects our mind from attacks by Satan, keeping us safe from his deceptive tactics. It also helps us to see things clearly when it comes to making decisions that affect our lives and long-term goals as Christians.
  • Put on the breastplate of righteousness (Eph 6:14). You can’t get through life without a few bruises, but this piece of armor will protect you against anything that might try to knock you down in life or make you give up completely. As Christians, we should always strive for success in all that we do because working hard brings glory to God!

Pray regularly throughout the day

Prayer is not just a one-time thing. It’s a conversation with God, and so it should be taking place throughout your day. You may feel like you need to pray only when you’re in trouble or facing a problem, but prayer is meant to give God the opportunity to speak with us at all times of our lives—not just when things get hard!

Spend time with God in the morning.

Spend time with God in the morning.

When you wake up, take a few minutes to read your Bible and pray. Ask God to guide you through your day as He leads others through theirs. Pray for your family, friends, the church and its leaders, the lost who do not know Jesus Christ as their Savior, those who are suffering physically or emotionally from illness or loss of loved ones, and those who have needs (both physical and spiritual). When we spend time with God each day we are able to seek His guidance throughout our day so we can honor Him in all we do.

Keep your heart focused on what is right and pure!

If you’re going to be a Christian, you have to keep your heart focused on what is right and pure. That means focusing on the good things in life, not the bad; on the positive aspects of your life, not the negative; and on what you can control—not what you can’t.

At first glance this may seem like an impossible task because there are so many bad things happening all over the world today, especially when it comes to our politics and social climate. But this isn’t about ignoring those issues or pretending they don’t exist! We should be aware of these things and pray for solutions (and participate in civic engagement when we have time).

However, if we let ourselves get sucked into negativity or despair over these issues without ever looking at them from an honest perspective with God’s help then we will become depressed or angry which does nobody any good except Satan himself who wants nothing more than for Christians’ faith in Jesus Christ to be destroyed completely through their own self-destructive behavior driven by despair over worldly problems!

If you hang around a barbershop, sooner or later you are going to get a haircut.

If you hang around a barbershop, sooner or later you are going to get a haircut. You may not know it, but the men sitting and talking with one another can influence your thoughts, attitudes and beliefs. In fact, if you spend time in any sphere of society where people gather together for fellowship (a coffee shop, restaurant or even just plain old walking down the street), you will be affected by those who come into contact with you.

It’s important to remember that we all have free will and we can choose whom to associate ourselves with as well as how long we stay in their presence. We must always be aware of who is influencing us so that we don’t inadvertently buy into ideas that are contrary to God’s Word (1 Corinthians 15:33).

Make sure you are attending a Bible-based church regularly

Churches today are often more focused on their own agendas than they are on what God has to say through the Bible. It is important that you find a church that teaches the truth of God in an honest and clear way. Churches can be very welcoming places, but it’s important to ask questions about how they teach and apply Scripture to your life as a Christian.

  • What is the church’s stance on homosexuality?
  • Does it encourage women who want children or expectant mothers to attend Sunday school classes? How does it interact with single parents?
  • Is there an emphasis on caring for orphans, widows and others who need help in your community?

Keep reading your Bible every day. Do not make excuses for failing to read it.

One of the most important things you can do for yourself is to make reading your Bible a daily habit. You will find that it is a great help in keeping you from falling into temptation, and it helps you grow stronger in faith.

If you have been neglecting this duty, don’t let yourself off the hook by making excuses for why you haven’t been doing it. Whether you are tired or busy or both, remember that God expects us to read his word daily—and he has promised us all kinds of blessings when we do!

So if tomorrow comes around and still no time has been set aside for reading God’s Word, then take some time today (or tonight) before going to bed and get started on whatever part of Scripture seems most interesting or important at the moment: maybe Psalms one day; Proverbs another day; James another day… always trying not just to read but also understand what each passage means so that we might apply them later down the road when temptation strikes again!

There is no better way to live than for God!

Being a Christian means living for God. There is no better way to live than for God!

God is the only one who can give us the strength to live for Him, peace and joy in our lives, and a purpose for our existence on this earth. He is also the only one who can save us from our sins and give us eternal life with Him when we die.

Conclusion

The best thing I can say, if you want to live as a Christian in the modern world, is that it’s not easy. It takes work, and it takes commitment. But if you are willing to put in the effort and keep your heart focused on what is right and pure, then there is no better way to live!
